For the latest Peter Schiff, go to PeterSchiffBlog.com – This discussion with John Rawles is about how to literally survive the economic collapse. Gold and silver are a great way to protect yourself, but one thing that you want to stay away from is collectibles. If you want to be a coin collector, that is fine, but it has no place in a retirement account. You should buy bullion or coins. Shaving cream, razor blades, toothpaste are all good things to buy in order to protect yourself. The prices of all these items are going up, so you might as well buy them now. You can barter with them, you can use them for your own personal use, and even if everything turns out fine you will still have bought them for much lower prices than you would have to pay in the future. There are a lot of items like this that you can stock up on. They are like money in the bank. Even better, you won’t have to pay capital gains taxes on these items like you would with traditional investments. For all we know, the government may introduce a windfall profits tax in order to confiscate the wealth of all the people who were able to escape all the upcoming inflation. If you are looking at a survival situation in which the currency has been wiped out, then you should purchase items that are compact, durable, and easily recognizable. Bananas wouldn’t be a good choice because they aren’t durable. Aside from silver, bullets may be one of the best investment choices. Just use common sense. Batteries, candles …

What Will You Do When the Collapse of the US Dollar Wipes Out Half of Your Wealth? Have you ever wondered how the currency crisis will affect your family’s finances? Let me explain the sobering reality to you in the following scenario: Suppose you have $2000 in the bank on Friday afternoon. When the bank opens on Monday, you still have the same $2000 in your bank account, but because the value of the US dollar has collapsed over the weekend, you now have 50% less buying power. So if you wanted to buy something that would’ve cost you $500 on Friday, it will now cost you $1000. You’ve literally wiped out one half of your buying power — and consequently wiped out half of your wealth! And that’s not all. What if you had a retirement account or money market holdings? Half of your funds would vanish into thin air with the collapse of the US dollar. The trillion-dollar deficit has caused the US government to keep printing money without the backing of precious metals — and that practically guarantees that the US dollar will be devalued to the point of collapse. When that happens, there will be serious repercussions — such asmassive inflation, the skyrocketing of prices of gas, oil, food, clothing, household goods and other commodities. Experts predict a brutal downturn in the economy for the end of 2011, which they expect to be about 10 times worse than the mortgage crisis of 2008.
The Collapse of the Paper Money System is Already Underway If …
The solution to America's jobs problem lies not with budget-busting federally mandated "stimulus" programs.
Instead, what is needed are specific reforms that wouldn't cost taxpayers, would create a broader tax base for cash-strapped cities and states, and would provide opportunity for millions of Americans who worry where their next paycheck is coming from.
As demonstrated by a series of eight new reports issued in October 2010 by the Virginia-based Institute for Justice, one of the principal obstacles to creating new jobs and entrepreneurial activity in cities across the country is the complex maze of regulations cities and states impose on small businesses. IJ's "city study" reports are filled with real-world examples of specific restrictions that often make it impossible for entrepreneurs to create jobs for themselves, let alone for others.
Chip Mellor, the president and general counsel of the Institute for Justice, said, "If the nation is looking to the federal government to create jobs in America, it is looking in the wrong place. If we want to grow our economy, we must remove government-imposed barriers to honest enterprise at the city and state levels. Remove those barriers, and you will see a return to the optimism and opportunity that are hallmarks of the American Dream."
IJ's eight reports document how irrational and anti-competitive regulations block entrepreneurship. More often than not, these government-imposed restrictions on economic liberty are put in place at the behest of existing businesses that are not shy about using government force to keep out competition. The Institute for Justice's city studies examine regulations imposed on a wide range of occupations in Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Milwaukee, Newark, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
"Fear the Boom and Bust" a Hayek vs. Keynes Rap Anthem
In Fear the Boom and Bust, John Maynard Keynes and F. A. Hayek, two of the great economists of the 20th century, come back to life to attend an economics conference on the economic crisis. Before the conference begins, and at the insistence of Lord Keynes, they go out for a night on the town and sing about why there's a "boom and bust" cycle in modern economies and good reason to fear it.
We’ve been going back and forth for a century
[Keynes] I want to steer markets,
[Hayek] I want them set free
There’s a boom and bust cycle and good reason to fear it
[Hayek] Blame low interest rates.
[Keynes] No… it’s the animal spirits
[Keynes Sings:]
John Maynard Keynes, wrote the book on modern macro
The man you need when the economy’s off track, [whoa]
Depression, recession now your question’s in session
Have a seat and I’ll school you in one simple lesson
BOOM, 1929 the big crash
We didn’t bounce back—economy’s in the trash
Persistent unemployment, the result of sticky wages
Waiting for recovery? Seriously? That’s outrageous!
I had a real plan any fool can understand
The advice, real simple—boost aggregate demand!
C, I, G, all together gets to Y
Make sure the total’s growing, watch the economy fly
We’ve been going back and forth for a century
[Keynes] I want to steer markets,
[Hayek] I want them set free
There’s a boom and bust cycle and good reason to fear it
[Hayek] Blame low interest rates...
France, Italy, Greece, Hungary, Germany ... Co se stane v případě krachu Maďarska s Rakouskem? Co nastane v případě krachu pobaltských zemí se Švédskem? Co nastane v případě výraznějších problému Řecka, Itálie nebo Francie s Rumunskem a Bulharskem? A co Spojené Státy Americké či Kanada nebo Velká Británie? . Až to s Unií sekne :-( .
Sociální stát a iluze "státního" zabezpečení . Asi většině občanů naší země se líbí něco získat tzv. "zadarmo".
. Kolik stojí důchodový sociální systém na jednoho pracujícího v roce 2008? Je to dle rozpočtu 62 690 Kč zdroj: Cena státu cz

.
Mohu nějak podpořit reformu a zdravé financování důchodů?
V opačném případě budeme v pasti populistů kde je vše "chráněno" státem a kde inflace a nezaměstnanost budou vždy dusit nejchudší a střední vrstvy.
