London stay

Stay in London

Some friends ask me how to start cleaver in London?

I was in London
18.05.2004 - 18.05.2005 (excluding January - February)

This "How to start in London" is Only my experience and Only my calculation.

I arrived in London at Victoria bus station. Next day with my new friend from Czech, we went looking for accommodation or flat. I wanted to stay close to Putney Bridge. My friend's friend advised us to go from Victoria to West Brompton train station. When we arrive and came out of the station we don't know where we are.
It was incredible that in about 2 hours later, we had arranged flat (share room) about 700 meters from us :o :o
I still can't believe it!

It was Fulham a very nice area and not far from Fulham Broadway (FLBY or FBWY?) wich is next to Chelsea stadium.
2005 after about two months breake I was living north from Wandsworth Bridge about 15 minutes walk from Fulham BroadY.

At the beginning about 5-6 weeks I was study English "full time" 15 hours pw  (it cost about 40 ppw)  near to
Bishops Park which is next to FFC.
Unfortunately
I didnt find easy partime job for about 30 - 40 hpw (2004/05 there was a lot of new people from new EU countries) and I had to stop my English school :-(((

Then 6 Months I was working in laundry (very good job) they paid me 980 - 1050 ppm

Because everything was close to me :-))
School 15 minutes by walk
Job 8 minutes by walk
FBWY 10 miutes by walk   (HillS. LifeGroup... )

I paid about 2 - 4 ppw :-) :-)  for public transport

Of course I prepared food by myself :-)
1 minutes from my flat was N End Rd where is 6 times per week North End Road market
there I bought sometimes some excelent food very, very cheap!

Btw: (North End Road market is its local history since 1887)
North End Road market

I paid about 10-12 ppw for all food and many people dont beleive me :o ;-)
Flat (room) living cost 50 ppw

My budget was about:

+ 245 ppw Job
- 50 ppw  Room
- 14 ppw  Food
- 3 ppw   Transport
- 10 ppw  for something
-------------------
168 ppw about I save

My calculations, the actual price you will find out on the web.
Be careful always count on at least worse variant for about 30 percent.

The main problem in London is that I didnt know English. Sometimes I often felt as deaf-mute :-(
My English was poor :-(

But stay in London is very good experience!!!
I advise this to everyone!

Thanks Irene!
